EVIEW:

If you are looking for your next favorite black metal band, look no further than ‘Davghter’.

‘Davghter’ is a Trans-Black Metal band from London, England. They have quickly been on the rise through the London underground metal scene.

Their sound will remind of you traditional black metal from the wintry back woods of Norway, the vocal delivery from Isabelle will absolutely blow you away, along with the brutal, and sometimes catchy guitar riffs, then not to mention the thundering drums from Charlotte.

‘Davghter’ takes the aural brutality of black metal, and fuses it with lyrics that reflect the marginalization, struggles, and hardships of the LGBTQIA+ community. Lending a positive voice towards the community letting them know that they aren’t alone.

Songs like ‘Forge Your Name’, with it’s catchy intro will immediately attract your attention. For my taste, ‘Mourning the Mask’ is one of the most powerful songs on the EP.

If you are in England, and get the chance to catch ‘Davghter’ live, it’s an experience that you won’t forget. The band performs at an energy level that will leave you wondering if it’s the last show they will ever play. It’s one of the most powerful concerts I have ever experienced. There is so much passion flowing out of all members of the band that you need to get out of their way, or they will absolutely run you over.

‘Davghter’ is a supremely talented band that deserves your attention, and needs to have their message spread far wide, so they can hopefully inspire those kids, or even adults out there, that feel like they’re alone in the world. I have no doubt that their presence is only going to grow further and it won’t be long before they add many more fan to their already existing throngs of fans across England.

Easily one of my favorite releases this year.

I give this EP 4.5/5 beards.
